Plot Synopsis?

Vague, but worth reading.

Movies.com (via Blastr) reports that the recent issue of Production Weekly has a synopsis for the film: Clark Kent is a freelance reporter in his early 20's, traveling all around the world covering various news stories. However, Kent is forced to fly back into action to attain a fleeing assassin instead of covering an ethnic conflict between the Ghuri and Turaaba clans in West Africa. Upon his return to form, Kent returns to Smallville to learn more about his origins and become the hero he was born to be. Well, that certainly sounds familiar. Not only is that the plot of the Mark Waid/Leinil Francis Yu story "Birthright" (which the article points out), but it's also pretty close to a plot synopsis we heard for the film a year or so ago. Interestingly enough, Movies.com does not provide the PW scan and flags this as a rumor. So, take it with a grain of Internet salt.

Green Lantern Sequel News.

Well, maybe saying that "Green Lantern 2" was moving forward was jumping the gun a bit. A new report indicates that rumors of the franchise's continuation have been greatly exaggerated. After The Hollywood Reporter initially stated that Warner Brothers was going ahead with a sequel despite the film's less-than-stellar opening, the outlet has revised its report with word from a studio spokesperson who said the company has not officially decided on a sequel. No surprise here: a lot of it boils down to money. "Green Lantern" took about $200 million to make, plus marketing costs around $175 million to advertise it both domestically and internationally. The report cites an unnamed source as saying that, in total, Warner Brothers shoveled out more than $400 million to get the ring-wielding superhero on the big screen. While the show is not over yet, it is looking doubtful the movie will bring in enough to cover these costs. However, Warner Brothers has advertised it so much that it may behoove them to make a sequel — if they learn from the mistakes they made in the first movie. A sequel could tie-in with all the company has done with "Green Lantern" toys, merchandise, and even the new cartoon. Right now, Warner Brothers has to look at the overall picture — including how much money they’ll generate from the first movie in order to get a go-ahead for the second. What are your thoughts on a "Green Lantern" sequel? Let us know in the comments section or on Twitter!

Reunited and it feels so good?

Zack Snyder may have a Gladiator fetish going on. I guess we should have known that from "300" According to "The Man of Steel Fanpage" there is a possibility that Connie Nielsen has been cast as Lara. That would be interesting to me as I always found her to have a likeness to Diane Lane, our new Martha "Ma" Kent.

THE TIME IS NOW...
